Jaime Redknapp praised Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and hailed him as the best midfielder in Premier League history.

The Belgian pulled out yet another classic performance against Brighton as he scored the opener for Pep Guardiola's side. After the match, Redknapp was all praises for De Bruyne and even went as far as calling him better than the likes of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Yaya Toure. He also talked about Phil Foden and how the youngster is learning from the Belgian.

Speaking after the match with , Redknapp said: "It's the master and the master. With Phil Foden and what he is doing right now, he looks so good. He has always got the picture in his mind. Kevin De Bruyne for me, we have seen some greats, such as Gerrard, Lampard, Yaya Toure. But he is the top one. I think he does things that are out of this world. The passes that he has seen, there are not many that can do that. I am in awe of him every time I watch him.

"You need good role models. It is great for Phil Foden to see Kevin De Bruyne every day. Just trying to learn and take something from him. There is no doubt that Phil Foden is playing so well because he has taken great lessons from Kevin De Bruyne."

De Bruyne has been a hit at City ever since he joined from Wolfsburg in 2015. Since then, the Belgian has gone on to become one of, if not the best, midfielders in the world. He has won the Premier League five times and has set them on the path to win the title yet again.
